Ability to be Others-Focused
— When life is kind, and we are experiencing little stress or pain, most of us can seemingly be “good Christians”. When life is good, our ability to love others and God comes easier. Our inner life is more at rest. We tend to be better communicators and be more involved in other’s lives. However, when life is unkind, and we experience a good deal of long-term stress and pain, a new set of inner life and relational dynamics can emerge. For most of us whether it is relational, physical, emotional, and/or spiritual pain, our ability to love and be others-focused is greatly diminished. Our inner life tends to go into inner turmoil. (Romans 5:3-5)
Unfortunately for most of us, more often than not life tends to have stress and pain. Relational, emotional, and spiritual pain come in truck loads. Our family environments and the collective culture that we operate in on a daily basis can produce tremendous amounts of pain and stress.
The Christian counseling ministry we share with you helps take the gospel of Christ where it was intended to go- to the innermost pasts of the human heart. It is designed to help Christian people take the great truths of the Bible deeper. The process does by helping Christians identify their falls default beliefs, instincts, and behaviors, so they can better address them, or the apostle Paul stated, “take them off, or cast them away like an old garment”. It then begins the process of infusing back in the believer’s psyche the default beliefs, instincts, and behaviors the God intended for them to have and experience on a daily basis.
